WHEN technology entrepreneurs want talent to create hardcore programs it is not easy to find the required skills in Singapore, said Vikram Kumar at the Keep It Going discussion on The Sharing Economy.
He wonders why this is the case given Singapore’s push in this direction.
Asst Prof Ben Choi of Nanyang Business School, NTU says that students are not encouraged to question, which is a disadvantage.
However, he says the system will be changed to keep pace with changes in the job market. The need to be inquisitive and relevant to changing times will force the policy makers to get the system aligned with what’s needed.
But he still believes it will be a decade before the fruits can be harvested.
