New Mercedes For The Bends

FOR those who don’t want to splash out for a AMG C 63, there’s a lesser beast on the prowl. Mercedes-Benz has just launched the wannabe AMG C 43 4MATIC Saloon for the princely price of $315,888. That shaves almost $115,000 off the C 63’s price.

The three-litre turbo V6 engine generates 270kW of juice.

Also bowing in this time is the GLC 250 4MATIC Coupe, the sportier looking SUV that draws extremes together. It reflects the “bipolarity” of the brand with hot and cool elements, says Gorden Wagener, head of design at Daimler AG.

Given that it’s pacey and rides high, it’s probably ideal for those Baby Boomers with joint challenges who may not want to crouch low to gracelessly plop into their seats. At $237,888, it’s a small price to pay — by Singapore standards — to preserve your dignity.
