Budget 2021 – Beyond The Numbers

AFTER four budgets in the strange COVID-19 year of 2020, we are hopefully back to the one budget in 2021.

That’s the desire of Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, as he presented Budget 2021 on 16 February.

Based on a quick appreciation of what has been laid down for this year and the future, our  WED WEB CHAT on the Singapore Budget 2021 focused on how the numbers play out and what they really mean.

Panellists for the discussion include Ku Swee Yong, CEO of International Property Advisor, whose latest book, The Future Of Real Estate, is his sixth on the industry; KC Lau, chartered accountant and author of Tax Planning — Singapore, which is in its 6th edition; fresh graduate Carissa Sim who has been trying hard to get a job; and investor and entrepreneur, CEO and Executive Chairman of SJ Ventures, P. Jeyaratnam.

The discussion covered the highs and lows of a budget that continues to tackle COVID-19 while looking to bring Singapore into the future.

From large amounts of money that will not be used, to the predictable recipients of support, cooling measures and the shape of the future, the discussion covered a range of issues.
