Eat Your Way Around The World At WGS2017

FROM familiar Asian favourites to the decadence of Europe to even a little bit of heat from South America, this year’s World Gourmet Summit (WGS) from 20 March to 16 April  promises to take visitors on a taste trek around the world.

This year’s summit will gather chefs from more that 16 countries for the United Nations Gastronomic Assembly to showcase the food (and drink) from eclectic cuisines of the world.

While the WGS is packed to the hilt with culinary delights, it also has a little bit of star power for that added oomph!

World acclaimed Ryan Clift of Tippling Club fame will be collaborating with San Pellegrino Young Chef 2016 winner Mitch Lienhard for a one night only dinner (30 Mar).

Netherland’s Jarno Eggen, the man behind Michelin starred De Groene Lantaarn in Zuidwolde, will be presenting a five-course dinner at Mandarin Oriental’s Dolce Vita (31 Mar).

Those in need of a little spice can head to El Mero Mero (30 Mar) as inventive culinary icon Daniel Ovadia showcases the fresh flavours of Mexico.

If you still haven’t had your fill, there is the Talad Market Dinner (8 Apr) featuring Thai cuisine and also a boozy Sunday brunch (9 Apr) atop Tamarind Hill (at Labrador Nature Reserve).

The summit also offers a chance to give back a little something to the community as you savour every scrumptious bite at The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Charity Gala Dinner, with proceeds going to help kidney patients. The Singapore National Culinary Team, Singapore Junior Chefs Club, and JAAN’s Kirk Westaway will be collaborating to create the delectable dinner menu and the gala will also feature stage performances and a charity auction.

So now you can satisfy your appetite and your conscience.
