Liverpool legends Gary McAllister, Luis Garcia and Ian Rush are optimistic about the club’s chances of a top three spot this season under Jurgen Klopp.
The trio who are in town as part of the LFC World at Suntec West Atrium, presented by Standard Chartered Bank, represent different eras in the club’s history.
Rush is Liverpool’s all-time top scorer, in two spells, from 1980–87 and 1988–96. McAllister, who had a short two years, from 2000— 2002, still bagged three trophies during his time at Anfield. Garcia’s legendary status with Liverpool, from 2004–2007, was cemented by his key goals against Chelsea.
All three felt they would have liked to be part of the current squad. “The attacking play suits our style,” said McAllister.
“The coach gets the players to deliver 100%, and his style suits me,” says Garcia.
As for the team’s chances this year, the three are of the same mind. “A top three spot,” reckons Rush.
The trio will make their appearance at Suntec West Atrium Friday through Sunday.
