Beauty Comes Out

TODAY, I muse on universalism.

It was the ’80s and I remember my secondary school friend K and I took the MRT for a day out. Cos he was LGBTQ+, people were staring at us on the train.

I loved how he took it so well to judgemental eyes, graciously understanding the inequality. Do not do unto others what you do not wish done upon you, no? It was a friendship that taught me that the underlings are subject to the fortress of the majority’s mercy.

I agree with Pope Francis who said that he believes that same-sex couples should be allowed to be joined in a civil union. The world is embracing LGBTQ+ as Taiwan made same-sex marriage legal on 24 May 2019.

‘bout time!

Multiplying this milestone, I openly dedicate these must haves to the LGBTQ+ squad.

LUXE Botanics’ founder Jené Roestorf confirms that moisturisers are more important to men than cars in 2020 and “with everyone spending more time at home and with less travel, many men have the time and have started to pay more attention to their grooming routine.”

Www.luxebotanics.com delivered the Kigelia Corrective Moisturiser to me and it’s inspired by the most transformative botanicals namely Camu Camu Berry from Brazil, Kigelia Africana from Malawi and Marula from Kenya.

It’s vegan and cruelty free. This men’s grooming bestseller is gel-like and it truly smells like spa oils. It calms redness and brightens.

Glow up, sistas.

Hairy backs, fret not.

For a date night with your significant other, the Terre D’Hermès parfum is an essential. It’s woody, smoky and has top notes of grapefruit and orange. I use it for myself too. It has a global citizen appeal in that I can imagine singer-songwriter k.d lang or make-up influencer @xreyymua wearing it to represent genderless sensuality.

You’ve gotta check out the Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Tisserand necklace made of 52 carats of pink sapphires, 42 carats of blue sapphires and over 18 carats of tanzanites. It is meticulously crafted by Tiffany artisans and I say it’s attire for a Monday morning corporate meeting coupled with Jeremy Scott’s Fall Winter 2020 Marie Antoinette Royal Court take on a pink sharp cut corset that comes with flouncy sleeves. Shante, you stay. Add Gucci’s ‘Genius Jeans’ and a pair of Saint Laurent Twenty 15 leather loafers. Boring is passé.

Hear, we celebrate different. The point is different IS the New Normal. You’re welcome!
