Here’s a chance to savour some of that rare Penfolds elixir that has hit all the buttons for wine’s master marketer Robert Parker.
This year’s Penfolds Wine Dinner will feature the 100-pointer 2012 Penfolds Grange Shiraz, along with seven other celebrated wines from the Australian winemaker.
The dinner, at the Grand Hyatt’s Mezza9 will pair the wines with a specially designed five-course meal, that will include a sustainable seafood platter featuring Australian rock oysters, Tasmanian scallops, Spencer Gulf wild king prawns and South Australian blue swimmer crab, which will be paired with the 2015 Reserve Bin A Adelaide Hills Chardonnay, recently named Australia’s best Chardonnay, as well as the popular Bin 311 Tumbarumba Chardonnay.
The 100-pointer Penfolds Grange will be served with a cheese course featuring a baked Mont d’Or cheese with generous shavings of black truffle.
Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago will be present at the event to talk through the wines along with Penfolds Winemaking Ambassador Patrick Dowling.
