Hopeful That People Will Change For The Better

FROM poor social etiquette to staying inclusive and exploitation, the issues raised at the WED WEB CHAT — What Is Acceptable Behaviour Today? — explored society in a state of transition.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still doing its grand tour around the world, the situation is becoming less temporary — no matter what the prevailing talk and thought on vaccines may be — and more settled.

Some discoveries — like working from home — are welcomed by the more enlightened though does that mean falling property values from vacant office units could result in those working from home being taxed more?

The recent kerfuffle over WhatsApp and its new terms of service also raises the question of how much do we allow big business to rule our lives. With options aplenty — Telegram, Signal, Wechat, LINE… — there is always the option to switch. But while many are still oblivious to what’s going on, and are reluctant to change, there is a sizable number of people who will make their feelings known by walking away.
